Jeffrey A. Karson

Jeffrey A. Karson is Professor of Geology in the Department of Earth Sciences at Syracuse University. He has participated in numerous geological investigations on land and on the deep seafloor worldwide with a focus on seafloor spreading and related processes. His current research is centered on volcanic and tectonic processes in Iceland. He is the author or co-author of over 150 scientific publications and co-founder of the Syracuse University Lava Project involving scientific investigations, educational experiences, and artistic creations based on large-scale lava flow experiments.
