Dr. Jenifer Wakefield is called to serve women in personal crisis or those impacted by addiction. During her time as women's ministry staff director at her home church in Austin, Texas, she recognized the need for affordable and quality Christ-centered services for women in Central Texas. From this experience Restoration Ranch, Texas was founded in 2016. The book ABIDE: Stepping into a Season of Healing in Christ is the specific challenge for women to begin the difficult journey from brokenness into a season of personal healing using the Bible. The material in ABIDE is based on years of interaction and discipleship counseling with women, and real time problems. The New Testament book of John and chapter fifteen is the basis for the idea of how a woman can begin to picture this journey with Christ as the True Vine, and the person, by faith, living as one connected to the branch of the Vine, Jesus Christ. Jenifer's training began through years of Bible Study Fellowship, trusted pastoral leadership, and undergraduate work in Communications at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. Jenifer holds a Master of Arts in Christian Education (2017), and Doctor of Educational Ministry in Biblical Counseling (2022), from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. As an experienced women's Bible teacher and disciple-maker, Jenifer specializes in women's issues through the methodology of biblical counseling. Jenifer and her husband Gary, have two grown daughters Jessica (John), Jordan (David) and grand girls Aven and Vivien, along with Buddy-the-dog, the most recent member of the Wakefield family. In less busy times Jenifer enjoys spending quality time with family, dear friends, gardening, reading, cooking, watching college football (Roll Tide), and traveling with Gary in the Hill Country of Texas.
