Jenny has been a professional willow grower and basket maker for more than 30 years. Based in Herefordshire, England, she creates, educates and exhibits her basketmaking passing on her knowledge and skills to an ever appreciative international audience. Her work is seen in national collections, films, as well as features in a number of specific magazines. She teaches at home and abroad, either one to one or groups. She completed a degree in Woven Textiles at West Surrey College of Art & Design in 1985 and was then awarded a Crafts Council bursary to work with master basket maker David Drew. His expert knowledge and understanding of making an object from indigenous materials had a fundamental impact on her career choice and way of life. She set out to make a living from making functional objects from homegrown materials and aims to practice using the inherent nature of these materials to the best of her knowledge, ability and experience, continuing to be innovative whilst maintaining the heritage of this traditional craft.
