Jenny M. Hendricks always enjoyed traveling every summer from her hometown of Lubbock, Texas, to her grandparent’s farm in Felt, Oklahoma right across the state line. Even with all the experiences at her grandparents’ farm every summer, she never thought she would actually own chickens when she grew up to be an adult. After graduating as Valedictorian, she obtained Summa Cum Laude from Texas Tech University in just three years while also working full-time at Red Lobster. Who knew that learning to handle live lobsters with deadly claws would come in handy later in life? While working a professional job, she went on to obtain a Master’s of Science in Computer Information Systems from University of Phoenix. After years spent hacking away at the computer of various Information Technology consulting jobs, her health took a sudden turn for the worse. She had lost so much weight that you could see the bones in her body, and her hair had started falling out too. After much research, she determined that it was her diet causing the issue. But even eating healthier didn’t fully heal her until she determined that it was the soy being fed to animals that was causing her reaction to meat and other foods, which contained this soy. She became a Certified Master Gardener in Michigan and started growing her own vegetables, including 200 pounds of potatoes per year, which she stored in the cool basement. Later, she moved back down South to Georgia, and she started raising her own chickens on Non-Gmo, Soy-Free, Corn-Free, and Non-Medicated feed. It truly made a huge difference in her health, and other people started taking notice. Today, her farm has won the prestigious “Best of Georgia” award every year that they have officially been in business, and they are currently shipping their frozen meats to all 48 states. She writes daily emails to her ever-growing farm family email list about animal stories or educational content. Her mission is to help others on their health journey, whether that is providing them directly with healthy meats or educating them on homesteading for them to be more self-sufficient.
