Jenny Shaw is Associate Professor of History at the University of Alabama, where she has taught since 2009. Her courses on the histories of the Atlantic World, the Caribbean, and slavery are comparative in approach, weaving together the experiences of people from Africa, Europe, and the Americas to explore questions of race, gender, and colonial expansion in the early modern era. She is the author of *Everyday Life in the Early English Caribbean: Irish, Africans, and the Construction of Difference* (University of Georgia Press, 2013) and *The Women of Rendezvous: A Transatlantic Story of Family and Slavery* (University of North Carolina Press, 2024).
