I'm Jere' M. Fishback, a former journalist and trial lawyer, now a full-time writer of short fiction, novels and memoirs. My Young Adult novel, "Josef Jaeger", won multiple awards after its release by Prizm Books in 2009, and a copy of "Josef Jaeger" is on the shelves at the Library of Congress. After Prizm Books closed its door in December 2016, a new edition of "Josef Jaeger" was released in April 2017 by Createspace. In late 2013, Prizm published my YA novel, "Tyler Buckspan". The American Library Association's Rainbow Project placed "Tyler Buckspan" on its recommended reading list for LGBTQ teens, one of twenty-one novels selected for this honor. As of November 2014, "Tyler Buckpsan" was on the shelves of seven public libraries throughout North America, including the Seattle and Toronto Public Libraries. After Prizm Books closed its doors in December 2016, Ninestar Press published a second, revised edition of "Tyler Buckspan" in April 2017. In December 2014, Prizm published my Edgy Young Adult novel titled "Becoming Andy Hunsinger". The story takes place in 1976, in the Florida Panhandle. It's all about becoming yourself and discovering who you are, even if your needs clash with society's norms. Ninestar Press published a second, revised edition of "Becoming Andy Hunsinger" in 2017. In May 2016, Painted Hearts Press published my lengthy novel, "The House on Fremont Drive", an eerie tale dealing with a variety of topics: racism, astrology, cross-country distance running, family dynamics, and mysticism. In September 2016, Createspace Publishing has released my novel, "Dodging a Pearl", which is set in central Florida in the 1990's. It tackles topics of drug addiction and mental illness, and it explores the tragedy of the HIV epidemic that swept through America's hemophilia community during the 1980's. In July 2017 Ninestar Press released my latest YA novel, "Kevin Corrigan and Me", a story loosely based on events that occurred in my life when I was fifteen and sixteen years old, and living in a beach community. It's a story of love that blossoms between two boys when they spend a summer together. In fall 2017 Ninestar Press released my latest New Adult novel, "On the Way to San Jose". It's a road trip story about two total strangers who travel cross-country in a panel van. Along the way a friendship blossoms that eventually leads to something far deeper. I live on a barrier island on Florida's Gulf Coast, west of St. Petersburg. Besides writing, I enjoy surfing, walking the beach near my home, working out and swimming laps at the YMCA, cooking for friends, and watching sunsets with a glass of wine in my hand.
