Jérémie Swinnen is a dual Belgian-Argentinian citizen, lawyer and professor of Public International Law at the Catholic University of Argentina (UCA), specialized with a double master's degree in Public International Law from the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL) and in Criminal Law and International Justice from the United Nations Interregional Institute for Crime and Justice Research (UNICRI). Additionally, he holds a diploma in Approaches against Organized Crime from the University of Belgrano (UB). Swinnen is currently working as a specialist advisor on issues of transnational organized crime and justice for the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs Bureau (INL) of the United States Department of State in Argentina. Prior to joining the State Department, he worked for the Argentine Senate as a legislative advisor in Parliamentary Diplomacy focused on justice, security, and international law issues, and at the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for Latin America and the Caribbean in the Regional Office in Vienna. Jeremie is the author and co-author of several articles on international law and transnational organized crime.
