Jeremy Benson

Jeremy Benson is a sponsored backcountry ski athlete and freelance writer who has lived in the great state of California since 2001. Originally from the east coast, Benson transplanted in north Lake Tahoe shortly after graduating from Saint Michaels College in northern Vermont. He splits his time between the complementary sports of backcountry skiing and mountain biking, and his pursuit of both has taken him on adventures throughout the western United States and around the world. In winter you can find him exploring the endless mountains of the Sierra Nevada throughout California on skis, and in the warmer months he trades the skin track for the singletrack and can be found obsessively mountain biking the amazing trails in Tahoe and the surrounding areas. He shares his passion for the outdoors and the sports he loves through his writing and has written for numerous national and local print and Internet media outlets and is the author of Mountaineers Books title, Mountain Bike: Tahoe, as well as the upcoming backcountry skiing guidebook, Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding, California. He currently resides in Truckee, CA with his wife, Heather.
