Jerrell Goodpaster is a hiker, climber, and cyclist who has explored much of Kentucky's trails, crags, and roads. He shares his knowledge of the state in several outdoor guides. He began hiking in the Red River Gorge in the late 1970's, began climbing there in the early 80's, and continued climbing for 20 years. You might encounter him in the Red on any given day. Jerrell has hiked in many regions of the U.S., including the Adirondacks, the North Cascades, the Tetons, Yosemite, and the Maroon Bells. He has climbed at the New River, Seneca, the Gunks, in Colorado and elsewhere. Jerrell trained in glacier travel with Alpine Ascents International and has climbed volcanoes in the Pacific Northwest, including Mt. Rainier.
