Jerry Hall

Born in St. Cloud, Minnesota, Jerry Hall graduated from North Dakota State University and served for seven years in the United States Air Force. As a combat pilot, he flew more than 350 missions in Viet Nam, receiving numerous awards and decorations and receiving an honorable discharge. He wrote the original draft for what would become 'Yes Sir, Yes Sir, 3 Bags Full! longhand in the late 1970s. In 2011, Hall contracted Stage IV lung cancer that was directly attributed to his exposure to Agent Orange in the war. He revisited the manuscript after his diagnosis and spent the last years of his life applying the insight he had gained through PTSD treatment and a lifetime of experiences to it. It was completed before he died on August 25, 2015.
