Jerry Paregien is retired from the California Highway Patrol where he served for 28 years. During this time he served as a Firearms Training Supervisor in four different C.H.P. facilities and completed a number of police firearms instructor training programs. After retirement, he authored the California Probation Officers Defensive Pistol Training Course for use by County Probation Departments statewide. Mr. Paregien is an active firearms writer and match program designer who has written range and firearms safety procedures and manuals for his local East Tennessee gun club. While most of his writings gravitate towards the semi automatic pistol, Mr. Paregien is presently hard at work on an extensive classroom presentation about the double action revolver, a favorite subject from his law enforcement years. He is an active shooter and Life Member of the National Rifle Association.
