Dr. Jigarkumar Patel received a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Texas at Dallas (UTDallas) in Richardson TX. Before attending UTDallas, he earned a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Pure Mathematics and a B.Ed. degree from Gujarat University in Ahmedabad, Gujarat INDIA. Dr. Patel worked as a Senior Lecturer II at UTDallas from the year 2011 to 2018. His research interest includes Mathematical Education, Peers Assisted Learning Models, Numerical Solution of PDE, Optimization and Dynamical Systems. He received the President's Teaching Excellence Award in 2016. He was nominated for the Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award of UT System in 2017. Dr. Patel worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Courant Institute of New York University from 2017 to 2019 where he introduced the Peer-Led Team Learning (PLTL) for the PreCalculus course. Dr. Patel is currently working as an Associate Professor of Instruction at the University of Texas at Dallas.
