Jim Algie Smith lived two lives, military and civilian. He retired as a Colonel and a Defense Contractor. Has a BA from UAB and an MS from Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, AL. He owned a Sporting Goods Store and an eight-court Racquetball Club. In 1994 he and Penny move to PCB, FL. He immediately became active in his beach community issues. After serving on Active Duty in Korea then NATO in Bosnia-Herzegovina, he retiree 2000. His contract work was in the Philippines and Guam before retiring in 2004. Jim's service in the military helped him develop the skills to strategically navigate the fight for Bid-A-Wee Beach. He served his community 17 years as President of Bid-A-Wee Beach organizations.
