Jim Lammers

关于作者

Jim Lammers, FAIA, was trained as an architect back when freehand sketching and perspective were an integral part of the curriculum. He holds degrees in architecture from Iowa State University and Columbia University. He’s headed his own architectural and planning practice for the last 25 years, and for 18 years he taught in the School of Architecture at the University of Minnesota. Jim guest lectures in the Architecture Program at Iowa State and teaches travel sketching at Marine Mills Craft School. He has been a prodigious sketcher from an early age, no doubt inspired by his father who was a painter and an architect. An inveterate world traveler, persistent writer and relentless sketcher, Jim has been published in a number of professional journals and on the Cargo and Moment Sketchers websites. His sketches have been exhibited in Minnesota at Landmark Center in St. Paul, Hallberg Center for the Arts in Wyoming and ArtReach St Croix in Stillwater. He is currently working on a new book: 'Light Houses of the Great Lakes: An Architect's Sketchbook. When not traveling, writing or teaching he enjoys life drawing with the Nimble Observers, sketching with Urban Sketchers Twin Cities, and working as arborist on his 18-acre farmstead in Minnesota.
