Jim van der Keyl

Jim is an animator and caricature artist. He has been drawing caricatures since 1983! In 1993 he came out with a series of recorded videos that he sold through the mail explaining the process of retail caricatures for anyone interested in understanding drawing techniques and how to market yourself as a caricaturist. In 1980 he got hired as an inbetweener for the Disney Studios in Burbank, California and started a career in Animation. Jim kept up his caricature work and occasionally took on caricature side hustles but his main passion was to learn everything he could about animation. Jim has has a very successful career as an animator for over 30 years. In 2010 he published a more extensive book on the creative process of caricaturing called "A Caricaturist's Handbook" Jim continues to engage in the caricature community via online caricature Facebook groups. Most recently added are a series of animation books starting with Cracking the Code of Timing and Spacing.
