Jinny Henson is a native Texan, graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Seminary. She has taught in the Communication Department of Dallas Baptist University and also performed stand-up comedy nation wide for over 15 years. A highly sought after speaker, Jinny faced the most severe trial of her faith in July of 2009 when her only daughter 12-year-old Maggie Lee was injured in a church bus accident when the tire failed, the bus flipped, ejected her and came to rest upon her. For three weeks while she fought for her life over 250,000 visits were made to her Caringbridge website. On August 2, 2009, Maggie Lee Henson died. With their deceased daughter's 13th birthday approaching in October, a friend suggested The Hensons try to rally 1,300 people to do a good deed in her memory. Since then, over 20,000 people have committed one act of kindness in Maggie Lee's memory on Maggie Lee for Good Day. Water wells were drilled in Malawi, Africa, Baguettes were passed out to the hungry in Paris, pony Tails were donated to Locks of love in Libertyville, IL and a food pantry was stocked in Carracas, Venezuela. And that's just the beginning of the story. Jinny and John live in Shreveport, LA with their son Jack and are amazed by the outpouring of kindness in Maggie Lee's memory. For more information, visit www.maggieleeforgood.org
