Jodi M. Hinman is a former programmer analyst turned stay-at-home mom. In 2016, while her two sons were attending college, she began to pursue her creative interests. Since then, she has performed in film projects that span the theater, the web, and television. In 2017, Jodi envisioned the concept for The Hole They Dug for You, which was initially to be depicted as a film. After the story mulled in her mind for about a year, she knew she either had to write her story or let it go. As she proceeded to write, fleshing out the story’s characters and getting to know them intimately, she switched gears, choosing to write the story as a novel (her first) instead. Jodi grew up with her parents and three brothers on a small farm in Lower Michigan, where the land and the outbuildings provided the landscape for many adventures. After living in the Detroit Metropolitan area for several years, she and her husband moved their young family to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Today, the couple still resides there with their miniature Australian shepherd.
