My two books about Nepal are like when your dog has puppies and you need to find the right home. They are not for everyone, but when you are the person who needs them, you will enjoy the way they lick your face and demand you attention. They will enlighten you. I speak best to other nurses and doctors who want to throw themselves headlong into global health practice on the frontline. I wrote these two books because so many of the other books in the genre omit the uncomfortable stuff.... the exact stuff people needed to know. To live this experience is a 24/7 thing, and it takes a toll. The skills you need are not just the Pearls of diagnosis, but to be "Street Smart" in a foreign street. I've been there. I was there for the 2015 earthquake. I travelled a lot in the Terai, where they are now having major political turmoil, and then there was my bus accident......
