The North Umpua River has been my passion since I first fished it when I was eight years old. I have had the priveledge of living on this river with my wife for many years. I enjoyed sharing my love of fly fishing through 30 years of guiding, as well as owner of the Blue Heron fly shop. During that time I created many steelhead fly patterns. Though now retired, I am still active in the fly fishing community and enjoy coming up with creative patterns, sharing them with other fly sishermen.
