John C. Thomas

Dr. John C. Thomas is a Professor with the Center for Counseling and Family Studies at Liberty University. In addition, Dr. Thomas has over 30 years of counseling experience and sees clients at Wyndhurst Counseling Center in Lynchburg, Virginia. Dr. Thomas also provides counseling supervision for individuals seeking licensure and for groups at various organizations. Dr. Thomas holds a doctorate of philosophy degree in counseling and a graduate certificate in alcohol and drug studies from the University of South Carolina. He received his master's degree in counseling and bachelor's degree missions from Liberty University. Dr. Thomas also holds a second doctorate of philosophy degree in organizational psychology from Capella University. Dr. Thomas is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), certified substance abuse counselor (CSAC), certified Christian sex therapist, and certified employee assistance consultant (CEAP). He has authored articles for many professional publications, conducts marriage enrichment retreats, and speaks on mental health and organizational issues. Dr. Thomas is an active member of Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia. He resides with his wife, Denise, and their two children, Katie and Stephen, in Lynchburg.
