John Crittenden began his long career as a professional, working artist in the 1960s and produced and sold more than 1200 paintings during his career. In the early 1980s he produced the History of Transportation which became "the official portfolio of limited edition prints for Expo 86″. The first photo to the right is of Senators Willie Adams and Len Marchand with John in his show in the National Art Centre in Ottawa. Senator Len Marchand and his wife Donna patroned John's National Art Centre show in 1986. After 46 years as a fulltime working artist John was diagnosed with macular degeneration in his right eye in November 2011. Within three months he was blind in that eye and told that he would never see again with it. He was also told that the disease had started in the other eye. Faced with losing his sight completely John developed his own naturopathic Protocol and within eleven weeks he improved his sight from 20/400 blindness to about 20/50 vision as this is written.
