John M. Blain

John M Blain John retired from Mechanical Engineering specialising in sawmill machinery design and manufacture. On retirement he pursued his talent in sculpting and painting and then discovered Blender Computer Graphics. He realised a need for instructions which would remove frustration from the Blender learning process. His book "The Complete Guide to Blender Graphics", first published in 2012 and now in its third edition, has been written using self teaching notes. It is structured to allow a reader to understand the Blender interface and apply the multitude of tools and different facets of the program. John's intention is to encourage the pursuit of computer graphics through the use of Blender. The success of "The Complete Guide to Blender Graphics" prompted John to publish a second book titled "Test Drive Blender", designed for younger enthusiasts. John believes it is never too early or too late to take up computer graphics.
