John Pozer is an award-winning independent filmmaker whose features have premiered at top international festivals, such as Cannes, Sundance, and Toronto. Variety called John's first feature, "a little miracle." THE GROCER'S WIFE, which he wrote, directed, edited and produced was selected as the opening film for the Cannes International Critic's Week and won France's Prix Georges Sadoul Award for Best First Film in 1992. In Canada, John received the inaugural Claude Jutra Award from the Academy of Cinema and Television for Best Direction of a First Feature Film. In his 30-plus years of industry experience, he has directed stories ranging from crime mysteries to teen comedies for major networks, including The Disney Channel, MTV, and Fox Family. He directed multiple episodes of BEAST WARS for Mainframe Entertainment reaching audiences around the world. In 2002, he won a Leo Award for Best Director for his work on MTV's SAUSAGE FACTORY. John earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Concordia University in Montreal and has taught over 1,000 students as a senior directing instructor at Vancouver Film School and adjunct professor at Simon Fraser University, The Art Institutes, LaSalle College, British Columbia Institute of Technology, and the University of British Columbia.
