Mr. John Robert Davidson

It’s never easy to tell someone about yourself. I’d like to say I’m a happy person, but my writing is often dark and tragic. You see, my past was filled with crazy. I was plagued with insecurities, and fear. My way to escape all that has been through my writing. My name is John Robert Davidson an upcoming fictional author who believes in underdog stories. By day I am a Human Resources professional, but in my free time, I am whatever my keyboard desires, I go where it wants, and I follow its lead. I would like to say I have written several successful novels, but that is not the case. To date, I have one self-published book “We All Live in a Grey House.” A story based on true life events. An urban multicultural story about three young white children who move from a small country town to a diverse Chicago neighborhood. There they befriend a young black girl and together they develop an understanding of racism, shame, and the loss of innocence, while exploring their new environment. In the process two of the children are kidnapped and an unexpected hero saves the day. I have only sold a couple hundred copies, but I am sure it just needs to be discovered by the right Agent. I am the father of two cats, Charlotte and Tiana. Both who spend the majority of their time arguing for my or my husband’s attention. I am happily married and I have several stories to tell and all the time in the world to do so. My favorite author is Toni Morrison, God rest her soul. I would have loved to have met her. Her book “Sula” has forever changed they way I see color. Currently, I am reading a lot of Elizabeth Flock. I find her grasp on human phycology very realistic and I aspire to write at her level on day.
