John T. Soister

关于作者

John T. Soister, born and bred a Brooklynite, recently retired as a teacher of modern and classic languages (English in one or the other category, depending upon your proclivities), having linguisticated for decades in central Pennsylvania. Married (going on 34 years) to the amor vitae suae (that's the "classic" part) and father of three adult children, Soister is looking forward to a retirement wherein he can put up his feet, listen to the music he and others of his generation enjoy so much, and have the occasional martini and/or bicchiere di vino rosso (that's one of the "modern" parts) necessary to calm his restless spirit and improve his outlook. Along with his friend and colleague, Henry Nicolella, Soister occasionally pontificates in print on film, especially about those films that initially might appeal to very few people and about which even fewer people would probably give any sort of a hoot. "Your loss," Soister has said more than once, albeit most likely not in this context, and he is more than half kidding. "There are lots of good, earnest, engaging films," Soister admitted, "about which little has been written. For my partner, Henry, and for me, the challenge is making those films not only sound appealing, but also challenging movie buffs to get off their keisters and search out these pictures." Soister welcomes communication from film fans of all bent, and is available at jsoister@verizon.net.
