As a practising planner all my working life (so far) I should be used to being accused as "away with the fairies" - (very unfairly I may add). So it is somewhat appropriate that my first novel should be a comic fantasy "fairy" story - "The Crossover" Other interests, apart from writing, include acting with the excellent Altrincham Garrick company - (well at least the rest are!); twitching - though I still have a lot to learn, and despair of ever distinguishing between a chiffchaff and a willow warbler with a sore throat; and travelling. For my sins I am also a Brighton and Hove Albion fan and have followed the Seagulls now for over 50 years (should I get a clock? or a psychological check over?) The book is now out in bookshops, on Amazon, and on ebooks, and a range of launches/book signings are planned for April/May - initially in the Manchester area, but happy to arrange events anywhere if anyone has any ideas. Have book, will travel. Would like to add thanks to everyone who came to the book launch on April 11th and to those who sent their best wishes and kind thoughts. It was a great evening. Thanks to Marg and Kate for all their work in the build up and on the night. Thanks to joe for stepping in to the Mix as it were. Thanks to Matt and Tess for bringing along the little princess who actually woke momentarily when I was talking - as opposed to most of my students who used to fall asleep. Also thanks to Chris Waring for stepping in to play and sing at short notice (and sorry to miss you Anja - hope the next gig goes well and that the single sells well). And thanks to Tom Byrne and Friends for a great finishing set. Finally, thanks to the staff at the Longfords for all their help. Pictures to follow. Further events planned and will be put onto events asap.
