JOHN WOODMANSEE

John Woodmansee was born in Mount Vernon, Washington. He attended Jefferson Elementary School, Laventure Middle School and Mount Vernon Highschool graduating in 1976. At the age of 14 he joined Skagit Explorer Search and Rescue. He is a lifelong hiker, hunter, snowshoer and an avid outdoorsman. He was a founding member of an adventure company called Recreation Without Borders LLC. Recreation Without Borders LLC took small groups on hiking, snowshoeing and other activities. They also took small group tours of England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada and Mexico. When not traveling overseas John guided tours in Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Utah. After selling Recreation Without Borders LLC in 2018 John offered Small Group Tours to Israel. These were coordinated through Uncommon Spiritual Retreats, based in Tel Aviv In 2018 he moved to Arizona. He immersed himself in everything about the Sonora Desert. He took Desert Survival classes and Desert Edibles. In 2019 he joined the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue unit based in Wickenburg. He was an active member through December of 2023. Now he lives in Wickenburg Arizona with his Canadian wife Brenda and his dog Jack. He works as a Line Cook at Cowboy Cookin', a local restaurant.
