Jon Pahl

关于作者

Jon Pahl is the Peter Paul and Elizabeth Hagan Professor of the History of Christianity at United Lutheran Seminary in Philadelphia/Gettysburg, and is also the Minister of Faith Formation and Community Engagement at Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Dr. Pahl also abhors pretentious titles, so lots of his students just call him "JP." Jon received his BA from Valparaiso University (Indiana), his MTS from Trinity Lutheran Seminary (Columbus, Ohio), and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Dr. Pahl has written and taught widely as a historian of religions, including on topics of sacred space, the history of young people, and religious violence and interreligious peacebuilding. He has spoken to audiences from Accra to Yale (couldn't think of a "Z" place), from Brisbane to Washington, DC, and has appeared on media outlets from the BBC to ABC. Jon lives with his wife of 38 years, Lisa, on a lake in Clintonville, Wisconsin, where he enjoys spending time with his extended family, gardening, and sitting in on the saxophone with various jazz and rhythm and blues bands. Jon and Lisa have three grown children and two beautiful grandsons.
