Joost Evertse

This author is an all-round professional with years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing IT solutions in the financial and telecom sectors. He has worked for big and small organizations. During his career, he has been living in different worlds (Unix-admin, DBA, Oracle dev, Microsoft dev, java enterprise dev). Creating order from chaos has been a big focus during system-engineering years. Joost has a lot of experience installing and managing and automating Unix/Oracle environments. After switching to software development, delivering solutions that create value for customers became important. During 2015/2016, this author focused on app development with new technologies like javascript, nodeJS, Cordova. This hybrid-app development was done using Webstorm IDE, and Continuous Delivery systems like Jenkins and tests were conducted with Mocha and Appium. During 2017/2018 at a big bank, the focus has been more on the entire CI/CD pipeline, especially with GitLab, getting the platform more stable, HA capable and improving release cycles. Joost and his team eventually migrated the CI/CD environment to the bank's private cloud. Currently he is helping the VWS team at a big energy company with growing and evolving the Virtual Workspace product.
