Joseph Kimble is an emeritus law professor, a grandfather, and a collector of blues and rock art. He has written three law books and, most recently, a children’s picture book. He’s having great fun visiting elementary schools to read the book and show kids how it got written and made. His message to them: learn to love words. Joe grew up in the small town of Linden, Michigan, and then graduated from Amherst College and the University of Michigan Law School. He taught legal writing for more than 30 years at Cooley Law School. He has won several national and international awards for his work in promoting clear, plain language in public communication. His days are spent writing, editing, speaking at law schools, giving writing seminars for legal and business organizations, and—big difference—standing in the midst of kids who are laughing and learning while he talks about “Mr. Mouthful Learns His Lesson."
