Joe Mynhier, an introvert untrained as a seller, became his firm’s top seller. He started his career as someone “having no social skills” and grew to being described as his firm’s “best at relationships.” Working over 30 years as an architect with BSA LifeStructures, a nationally ranked architectural/engineering firm of over 300, specializing in healing, learning and discovery, with offices in six locations across the country. He received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Ball State University, and started his career as a job captain, but wanting to be a seller, an entrepreneur, a hunter of opportunities. Through trial and error, Joe achieved success defined by many new clients, large new projects, over $50,000,000 in revenue without abandoning introversion. Major projects included three new greenfield hospitals, major ambulatory facilities and numerous major hospital renovations. Joe used experience and teamwork to set a new office benchmark of sales and revenue. Memberships included the American Institute of Architects and American College of Healthcare Architects and registration in over 10 states. All successes were with talented teams and for a firm with an entrepreneurial culture that rewarded successes and forgave but learned from mistakes. Joe, wanting to help other introverts, authored several Linkedin articles about becoming good at sales, which along with his wife’s support and encouragement, served as inspiration to become an author.
