Joy Turner is a first-generation college graduate and the founder of Koodoos. Over the years, she has worked as a college admissions reader for the University of Washington and the University of California San Diego. Since 2016, Joy has also helped hundreds of students from across the world to write personal essays and get into the college of their choice. Joy currently lives in the Seattle area. Raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Joy has worked as a military police officer, operations manager, program analyst, legislative intern, writing coach, and admissions reader. She considers herself an extroverted introvert, which means she loves to communicate through writing, enjoys working with students one on one, and is committed to helping others tell their story. A graduate of the United States Military Academy (West Point) and the University of Washington, Joy holds degrees in Art History, Philosophy, and Literature; Organizational Leadership; and Public Administration.
