关于作者

In “Lessons From Home”, the author serves a glimpse of her creative skills in the form of poetry. She was fortunate to have had a mother and teachers who recognized not only her writing but also speaking and acting skills. These poems are a few that span 50 years of thoughts that visited her mind. Readers will also get a glimpse of her southern dialect of which she is proud of because it was the language of her ancestors. Her acting skills also began to unfold as a child. She portrayed the following: Mary Todd in Love Is Eternal (senior in high school), Ms. Savage in Curious Savage (Tuskegee Institute/University, Lady in Green in For Colored Girls who have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf, (Palmdale, CA), and Sadie in Having Our Say at the infamous Liberty Theatre (Columbus, GA). She credits being a member of Toastmasters International as a key factor in honing her speaking skills. Feedback from all members was beneficial; however, world-renowned speaker Dana Lamon (Lancaster, CA) was the most impressive. She wants her readers to know that they should take heed to their passions! When each awakens, don’t allow it fall asleep! The world is FULL of traps that will deter you! To cope with the loss of her paternal grandmother, she began reminiscing and taking notes; this led to her becoming a playwright and producer without “formal” training! She said she’s blessed to have had the experience to have grown up in the GA woods, Talbot and Harris Counties (house was on the county line). She appreciates the beauty of “home” so much that she returned 24 years ago after living in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, and Los Angeles and Palmdale, CA. The author, who also has a passion for photography, captured the cover image the end of her street. It is remnants of her parents’ barn during its sunset at sunset. She chuckled as she said, “My sunset is on the horizon”!
