Julian Young is the author of fifteen books, mostly on nineteenth- and twentieth-century German philosophy. He has also written The Death of God and the Meaning of Life, a book on tragedy, and a book on Richard Wagner. His most recent work is a three-volume history of twentieth-century German philosophy. He has appeared on radio and television in Ireland, New Zealand and the USA, and has written for the Guardian, the New York Times and Harper's Magazine.
