Julie Gedro, MBA, SHRM-SCP, EdD is an educator, author, speaker, trainer, athlete, and activist. She is the Dean of the School of Business at Empire State College/ State University of New York. Dr. Gedro holds a BA in English and Economics from the College of William and Mary; an MBA in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University; and a Doctorate of Education (EdD) in Adult Education and Human Resource Development from the University of Georgia. Dr. Gedro is a Professor of Business, Management and Economics with Empire State College / State University of New York. Dr. Gedro researches, writes, lectures, and teaches about human resource management, human resource development, leadership, career development, positive organizational climate and culture, business and environmental sustainability, LGBT workplace issues, and alcoholism and recovery. She is a lifelong athlete, mystic, practicing Episcopalian, animal rescue advocate, leader and activist. Her academic portfolio of awards includes the Empire State College Jane Altes Prize for Outstanding Community Service; the Arthur Imperatore Fellowship; the Susan H. Turben Award for Excellence in Scholarship; and the State University of New York Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Scholarship and Creative Activities. Dr. Gedro serves as Past-President of the Academy of Human Resource Development.
