Jung Ja Park is a best selling author in South Korea who has great following in diverse platforms including Facebook. The Korean readers consider Park as a 'precursor of knowledge in human behavior' as the author relentlessly takes on the job to convey information of a complex subject, varying from power dynamics to capitalism, break it down to pieces using a plethora of examples, sort them out to basic principles and enhance the understanding of the readers. Her best selling books include 'Gaze is Power' 'Learning Capitalism at the Bakery' 'Luxury of Robinson Crusoe' and 'What are Habitus and Aura'. Her other works include '13 Puzzle Pieces in Manet's Paintings' 'The Age of Simulacra' 'The Aesthetics of Surplus' 'Vincent's Shoes' 'This is not a Political Story' and 'This is not an Apple'. The author has graduated from the Department of French Language and Literature at Seoul National University, where she also earned her Master’s and Ph.D. Her doctoral thesis was titled "The Return to Non-Realist Aesthetics: Centered on Sartre’s 'The Imbecile in the Family'". She has served as Dean of the College of Education at Sangmyung University and is currently a professor emeritus.
