Junrui Garcia grew up in China, where she earned her PhD in education. She has taught education, art and technology at various levels. In 2010, she immigrated to the U.S. and became a Houston-based artist and educator. Junrui teaches and create art, conducts calligraphy and visual art workshops in schools, public libraries, and churches. Additionally, she serves as the editor-in-chief of Chinese Art Excellent Collection. Although she views writing as “not doing your job,” she has nonetheless written Cato, which reflects her exploration of the relationship between humans and all other entities, including living creatures, inanimate objects, and especially AI robots.
