Kilem L Gwet

Kilem L Gwet is a mathematical statistician and statistical consultant who started his professional career in Ottawa, Canada before moving to the US after completing his PhD in statistics at the Carleton University School of Mathematics and Statistics. In the past few years his research focus has been on inter-rater reliability assessment and its applications to the social and medical sciences, as well as to quality control in software engineering. His books take up questions of data quality in research and more specifically, the biases that are caused using different data production systems. His approach is based on the use of rigorous statistical methods for evaluating the extent to which different data production systems agree and for planning better inter-rater reliability experiments. He has published several papers in the field of inter-rater reliability in peer-reviewed journals, in addition to developing software packages to implement the proposed methods.
