Kaili Colford, an Estonian-Canadian author and passionate advocate for children's rights, shares her deep connection to her heritage through the written word. Alongside her sister, Kaarin, Kaili co-founded Sõnad: Esto Words, a venture dedicated to celebrating Estonian language and culture. Inspired by her grandparents' perseverance during WWII and their contributions to Toronto's Estonian diaspora, Kaili is committed to preserving and honoring her cultural roots. In addition to her writing endeavors, she serves as the Director of PR & Communications for a global children's rights charity. Volunteering with children in Estonia further fueled Kaili's passion for Estonian culture and traditions. Currently writing a novel inspired by her family's journey, she explores themes of resilience and the enduring legacy of intergenerational experiences. Residing in Toronto, Canada with her Ukrainian-Canadian husband and their four children, Kaili finds joy in family, community, and the endless possibilities of writing. As the author of titles such as the Estonian Seasons Series, Kodutööd: Learn Estonian Words, Beebi Elu: Baby's Estonian Words, Vanaema’s Love: Õpi Eesti Keelt!, Eha's Great Escape (Eha suur põgenemine): Estonia 1944 and Monster Math: Õpi Eesti Numbreid, she invites readers to feel the magic of Estonia's language, culture and nature.
