Kaitlin Hanson

Kaitlin Hanson is a nurse and former Emergency Medical Services professional with a passion for supporting neurodivergent children and their families. As both a neurodivergent individual and a parent raising neurodivergent children, she brings personal experience and insight to her writing. She is the author of the *Mental Matters for Kids* series, including *Alex and His Big Senses* and *Alex and the Big Mess*, illustrated by Matthew Hanson. Her books help children understand their emotions, navigate sensory experiences, and develop healthy coping skills, while also providing parents with tools to foster acceptance and support. When she’s not writing, Kaitlin enjoys picking agates with her family, having dance parties with her kids, and helping expand their ever-growing LEGO villages.
