Kamaludeen Mohamed Nasir

Kamaludeen Mohamed Nasir is an Associate Professor of Sociology and the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies at the School of Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University Singapore. He was the 2016 Western Sydney University International Alumni of the Year and, in 2017, he won the Nanyang Research Award for being one of the three best young professors university wide. He is the author of six books and has published articles that focus on cultural sociology, social theory, the sociology of youth, and deviance and social control. He is the associate editor for the Blackwell Encyclopedia of Social Theory (2017) and has been a Visiting Scholar at New York University (NYU), The Graduate Center (City University of New York), the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and the Australian Catholic University (ACU). In 2018, he was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
