Karen married her high school, sweetheart, Terry. They live in Central Florida and have three married children and 11 grandchildren. Karen grew up in Stanwood, Washington in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Karen founded MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) at Camano Chapel on Camano Island. She was the first area coordinator in the Pacific Northwest and for five years, Karen, Terry and their three young children travelled throughout Washington and Oregon to help other churches catch the vision of MOPS. In 1997, they were the recipients of the MOPS International's Heart of MOPS Award. Karen continues to have a heart for moms. She loves to share the truth of God's Word and to encourage all women, but moms with young children have a special place in her heart. She also wants to encourage Grandma's who want to leave a lasting legacy for their grandchildren. Karen enjoys writing and is currently working on a memoir for her grandchildren on God's faithfulness to encourage them, their children and their children's children in their walk with Jesus. Karen and Terry began Desire To Inspire (formerly Muddy Water Ministries) to encourage and inspire people to glorify God, by using the gifts and talents He has given each of us to help others. Karen enjoys Christian music, swimming, taking walks, tricycling, finding great deals at garage sales, and planter gardening. Her greatest joy of all is spending time with her grandkids, family and Terry.
