Karina Vunnam's love affair with books began after her adoption, when she learned to read for the first time. What started as simple letter recognition blossomed into a life-changing relationship—books became her mentors, friends, family, and reflections. From the streets of Mumbai to Singapore to the United States, stories illuminated her path, offering both escape and understanding during times of profound change. This transformative power of literature shaped her journey from community college to Stanford University, where she studied Economics. Today, as both a software developer and children's book author, Karina creates stories that she wishes had existed during her own childhood. Her debut series, The Mumbai Street Siblings, based on her own childhood, celebrates the resilience of children, the strength of family bonds, and the beauty found in unexpected places. Through Creative Nudge Press, she works to pass forward one of the greatest gifts she ever received—the magic of reading. Her mission is to create books that serve as bridges, mirrors, and windows for young readers, helping them discover both themselves and the wider world in its pages.
