A Michigan native, the bi-peninsular author of 100 Things to Do in the Upper Peninsula Before You Die grew up in Metro Detroit and attended the University of Detroit. Kath was vice president-communications for the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau until she left to pursue freelance travel writing with kids Graham and Paige in tow. Kath’s family spent every summer vacation with relatives in the U.P., where her parents were born. She now lives with her husband Tom Kozak and Tucker the Wonder Dog in the U.P. village of Naubinway, at the northernmost point of Lake Michigan. Kath edits Experience Michigan magazine and writes about the Great Lakes State for a variety of print and online publications and her own e-zine, GreatLakesGazette.com. Her second book for Reedy Press, 100 Things to Do on Mackinac Island Before You Die, will be published in spring 2018.
