Katherine Fabrizio, M.A., L.C.M.H.C., psychotherapist, mother, and author, has treated adult daughters of difficult mothers trapped in the “Good Daughter” role for over 30 years. After initially going into practice with her psychotherapist mother, the recovering “Good Daughter” broke away and went solo in 1994, determined to create an approach that would help fellow Good Daughters heal in a way that was active, affirmative, intentional, and went beyond mother-blaming. Her work focuses on helping women make the personal and cultural shift of becoming “real” instead of striving to” be good” for someone else. The mother of two grown daughters, Fabrizio lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband. When not working, she enjoys painting with her fingers, dancing suggestively to loud music, talking to her husband about anything and everything, and delighting in her three grandchildren without doing any of the work.
