Kathleen L. Stone

Kathleen L. Stone ... wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and author! Born and raised in Washington State, Kathleen and her husband live in the Olympia area. She was one of the first thirty primary grade level teachers in the state to be awarded the prestigious Gates' Foundation Technology Grant. A National Board Certified educator and two time Teacher of the Year, Kathleen recently retired after 40 years of teaching. Kathleen is also a Juvenile Firesetter Interventionist with West Thurston Regional Fire, working with children and their families that have been involved in fire setting situations. She has received numerous awards from the department for her "exemplary service as a volunteer and unwavering dedication." Kathleen enjoys traveling with her husband. When not writing she can often be found quilting or sitting quietly by the lake enjoying a good book. Becoming a published author has fulfilled one of her lifelong dreams and has encouraged others that it's never too late to pursue your dreams!
