Kathryn Temple is a celebrated artist and writer. She began studying oil painting at six and has taught art to children and adults in school, camp, and university settings. Her paintings and text-based installations have been exhibited in dozens of group and solo shows and can be found in private and corporate collections throughout the country. Kathryn believes that art and creativity are essential aspects of a happy life and that they help people of all ages cultivate patience, compassion and empathy. In addition to her work as a visual artist, Kathryn has worked as an actor in professional and experimental theatres and has had the privilege of originating roles in several world-premiere productions. She has a Master of Fine Arts in painting and is a registered yoga instructor. She believes all people are artists and has found that most children know this on an intuitive level. She is the author and illustrator of the critically acclaimed book Art for Kids: Drawing as well as Art for Kids: Drawing in Color. She lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Asheville, North Carolina.
