Kathy Escobar, M.A. is Co-Founder and Community Cultivator of The Refuge, a hub for healing community, social action, and creative collaboration in North Denver. Her passion is creating safe and brave spaces for transformation and healing in a variety of contexts--in real life, online, and outside. A speaker, spiritual director, group facilitator, and organizational consultant, she is author of several books--Practicing: Changing Yourself to Change the World, Faith Shift: Finding Your Way Forward When Everything You Believe is Coming Apart, Down We Go: Living into the Wild Ways of Jesus, Turning Over Tables: a Lenten Call to Disrupting Power and A Weary World: Reflections for a Blue Christmas as well as co-author of Come With Me: An Invitation to Break Through the Walls Between You and God and Refresh: Sharing Stories, Building Faith. She's also written chapters in several collaborative books centered on equality, church, and faith. A Pepperdine University graduate, she also holds a M.A. in Management from JFK University with an emphasis in Organizational Development and a Certificate in Spiritual Guidance From Denver Seminary. She is founder of several non-profits and initiatives including #communityheals--Making Spaces for Transformation Accessible for All serves as a board member for several non-profit organizations.
