Kathy Wilson

I was born in Tampa, Florida in 1957 and fell in love with horses on a pony ride at a birthday party when I was three! I wanted a horse so badly but living in a big city made that impossible, however, I was fortunate to be able to ride at a ranch from time to time. When I was in the 6th grade, my horse-owning dreams came true when my family moved to Wilmore, Ky., a small bluegrass town right in the middle of horse country! I was able to enjoy having ponies and horses in my life until I went to college. I graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1979, married a career soldier and got to travel the world! The writing bug bit me in 1984 when we were stationed in Hawaii. I wrote three horse stories and some picture books but wasn't able to find a publisher. My manuscripts sat in a drawer until I retired from teaching middle school language arts in 2017! Now that I have finished my horse novels, I decided to write picture books and have enjoyed creating fun stories for kids of all ages!
