Kayla Allen

Kayla Allen is a writer, artist and entrepreneur who was born and raised in San Francisco. After studying art and design at university she travelled to Europe and lived in Paris and Madrid for a year, eking out a meagre living from the portraits she painted. Returning to the United States she used her design and DIY skills to create a small business which steadily grew as she become better known for the quality products she made. Recognizing that there was a growing interest in the crafts and hobbies industry, she bought a Cricut machine and soon developed a skill for using it in unique ways. Now she has added writing to her list of accomplishments and has written several books on Cricut work and the crafts and hobbies sector that are mainly aimed at women in their 30’s. Now a mother of three children, Kayla lives in a house near a stunning Californian beach, working from her small studio. In her free time she enjoys being able to walk for miles along the coastline or occasionally head inland where the family own a small cabin on a mountainside. She is also an avid reader, getting through several books a year, is a passionate gardener and an advocate of healthy eating. Now financially free and able to pursue her dreams, in the future Kayla would like to travel again once her children are older and to write more books that brings her design ideas to life.
